Passwords/pisswords

I hate passwords sooooo much! Example I had to change my password for this site, tho my old one was perfectly good, and had been used forever. In case you care , my new one for my blog is badwebsite1. Now that does not mean it worked right away. No I had to do it two or three times.Forget clicking remember me, doesn't work any more. The web site kept saying that my email address did not exist. What! I have had the same one for at least five years. Then there is Walgreens, My password stopped working so I gave in and changed it to one that they sent me. Still did not work.I was trying to do a photo book so I kept trying. Finally I called them and was told that the site had been down for a couple of days. My new password did not work and when I tried to change it, I was told that there were too many passwords with that account! As I said I hate these little guys. Why can't people decide if they want one or not. They piss me off so much that I call them pisswords.I also hate trying to find out how to contact a web site. No I don't need a help list! I need to either email or call someone, who will contact me. If you look long enough you can find out how, but you really have to look.

Unexpected travel

When you register your house on a web site, mine is on homeexchange.com, you never know where you might go. It is lovely to have wonderful invitations issued to you just because you happen to live half way betwen Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. So here I am planning our fourth exchange. Iceland is not a place I ever thought about going but now I am so excited. What is especially fun is that Jennifer and Scott are also going. And to make it even better we will spend almost a week in London. The hard part was finding plane tickets to London in the middle of summer that were bargain priced. After checking all known and newly discovered travel sites, I stumbled on to the AAA site run by Travelocity. Bingo! The same tickets on Travelocity were $50 more. The same tickets at the AAA office were $200 more. Now Jennifer has discovered a great little apartment in London, actually Barkin, England for a unbelievable price. If I got paid for making travel arrangements I would go broke fast, as it does take a lot of time.

To Be Continued

On January 18th there was an official celebration of Jim's life. After 28 years of marriage and a long friendship, not always friendly, it also marked the end of a large part of my life. We spent our youth together and produced three wonderful daughters. Somehow they picked up the best of each of us. I am grateful that he reunited with Mary and had some happy times with her. His health was so bad that any extension of life would be wrong. When it's time to go it's time to go. But the wonder of life goes on. It is pouring rain and as a weather starved Californian I am relishing in it. A fire in the fireplace a new book to read and Shadow curled up beside me. Better than anything money can buy.

When did this happen?

Well I feel like Rip Van Winkle.I feel asleep when Dani was five and when I woke up she was 17. Yikes! But it's all good. Without any help from me she turned from a beautiful child to a wonderful and beautiful young lady.Happy birthday Dani

THE END OF THE STORY

A wonderful Sunday afternoon at the doctors. No broken bones. Maybe a slight sprain. Evidently when you puncture the vein leading to the hand it causes lots of blood to gather and become very swollen and bruised. She cleaned the wound and put a ace bandage around my wrist. It still hurts when I move it but I am grateful nothing is broken. So that's that. The end of the story.

What a fall!

Today I had a experience that I have never had before. Now this is not for sympathy from the daughter that is furious with me. Not surprising for those who know me I fell. I fell very hard, in a parking lot outside of the 99cent only store on the way back to the car wash. I tripped over the cement parking block. I fell full force on my head and hand. It was my hand that took the brunt of the fall. I gashed my hand on the palm side of my thumb pretty badly. The scary thing was I almost fainted and had a hard time standing up. Two people rushed over and insisted on calling 911. I almost vomited. It was really a bad feeling (Ray was there) and very concerned. I could not stop the 911 and so they came. ( the experience that I have never had before.) I convinced them I was OK . Now the only problem is my hand and wrist which is very sore. I can't use them.Nothing is broken. My gash bled all over everything. The most embarrassing thing was I peed all over myself. A fact duly noted by the paramedics.

O.K. the picture is back. However, I know that trick, to make me think I am crazy, based on the movie Gaslight. Ironically we just saw a movie called Le Mustache, where a Frenchman shaves off his mustache and no one notices. Or do they? He finally thinks they are trying to make him think he is crazy. They being his wife and best friends. Of course since the movie is French by the end you do not know which party is crazy and who is doing what to who. Anyway I am not falling for that trick again.

Now a moment of silence for every ones favorite giraffe, Gemina, with her crooked neck. She was euthanized at the age of 21. Old for a giraffe in captivity.

A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND THAT

Another day another recipe Here is a bread pudding I made last night. Good and so easy I made it with one hand while holding the phone and talking to my granddaughter.

TEAR SIX PIECES OF BREAD INTO LITTLE PIECES

PUT IN SQUARE BAKING DISH

MELT TWO TBLS. OF BUTTER,DRIZZLE OVER BREAD

MIX FOUR EGGS , TWO CUPS OF MILK 1 TSP.VANILLA

1 TBLS. CINNAMON, ONE CUP OF SUGER, POUR OVER

OVER BREAD AND BAKE AT 350 DEGREES

FOR ABOUT 30MINUTES. ( I used cinnamon bread with

raisins or I would have added some)

QUESTION? If you had to wear a button with a maximum of five words on it describing your outlook on life, what would your button say?

Something I read in a book today. two people were at a boring movie. One said " this movie has no end as long as people will watch it it will go on " I think we all need to know when to give up on something for our own good.

Dinner

Today is a cold and rainly day. A good day for hamburger soup. This recipe came from my southern mother-in-law many years ago. So good and so easy. Open a large can of stewed tomatoes or diced tomatoes or whatever kind of canned tomatoes you like, Heat and add very small balls of hamburger, diced pototos, onions, carrots. Also add a little bit of cayanne. Yum
