Nature at the beach

My nature walks. Twice I have seen a seal pup very much alive on the beach. The first time Shadow went running up to it and got the scare of his life when it raised its head and hissed at him I went home and called the marine rescue people, left a message on their machine. Two days later another pup, but this time it was roped off with a sign to leave him alone, when he was ready he would go back into the water. And sure enough that is what he did. These pups were very small and had to be just a few weeks old. Then Ray and I watched a blue heron catch a field mouse or rat and then slowly swallow it whole. I did not know they did that. It was just like a snake seeing the big bluge go down the skinny neck.

Wow, very cool. IAre the pictures yours? Remember Lacey getting hysterical over the dying seal on the beach?

Your got your blog links on! Good job. And I saw "Last Chance Harvey" with Theresa today, we both enjoyed it a lot. It's hard to go wrong with Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.

I guess from reading my blog you saw that there are millions of elephant seals just on the other side of the islands. Must be where these little guys are coming from. Whats a bluge???
